History of Radio Station 2KA – A Talk by John Lanser – 4 July 2026

On Saturday 4 July 2026, John Lanser, a long term member of the Blue Mountains Historical Society spoke about the history of Katoomba’s own radio station, 2KT that opened in the 1930’s. John has given several talks in recent years including one on the history of the Catalina Park Raceway and another particularly interesting talk on the history of the first sound movie, Showgirl’s Luck, made in Australia, parts of which were filmed at the RAAF base at Lapstone, then the original Lapstone Hotel.
